I had the pleasure of having Judy as my singing teacher for 3 years whilst studying Musical Theatre and the Arden.

Initially going to a new singing teacher is a scary and worrying thing wondering if said person would be right for your voice. As soon as I started my lessons I found that I had come to the right person, a person who for one can sing and a person who you can talk to to about anything.
​
When I say “someone who can sing” I refer to singing teachers out there who believe they can sing but have terrible technical ability and pass this bad habit on.
But Judy does not provide this she provides a professional, demanding and excellent way of developing a voice! I went to Judy as a baritone and left as a high baritone / Tenor.
The first thing Judy said to me was, before you leave me you will be able to hit a c, and to my amazement she was correct and I can now sing comfortably up to a C in chest voice with the ability to keep my lower register!
I have been a professional singer / actor now for 3 years and this is partly thanks to Judy who gave me the right tools to support my voice and not get tired whilst singing for 90 mins per night.

I have developed many ‘sounds’ to my voice with the help of Judy, the different genres consist of Swing, Soul, Rock, Musical Theatre and Opera all of which I have the ability to do.
My first job out of Arden was Rock Of Ages, which was casted and directed by the broadway company in which I got to play the lead role of Lonny Barnett! I have to thank Judy for help with this project due to how high the book requires the voice to go, and with out the help of Judy I would not be able to hit some of the notes required.

Would I recommend Judy? Of course I would, she is professional, friendly and stern with her teachings!

Whilst studying for my degree in Musical Theatre I was taught for three years by Judy Kent, I always loved going to my lessons and the technique I learnt from her during this time has been invaluable to my career as a singer.

Prior to studying with Judy in Manchester I had been having lessons with a teacher in my home town, the belt quality of my voice had always been strong but Judy helped to secure it and pushed me to give my belt a more rounded and comfortable tone.
Judy taught and trained me to trust that I had a good lyrical soprano voice too and I owe this side of my voice to her. By using a range of different exercises and introducing me to new and challenging songs, Judy helped me to feel completely confident in singing both lyrical and belt styles.
