Judy Kent studied Singing at Chetham’s School of Music and the Royal Northern College of Music, as well as gaining a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from Bolton University. Judy has also attended many courses on freeing the Natural Voice as well as several Estill Voice programs whilst teaching at LIPA.

Judy was a member of London’s Cockpit Opera and London voices, a highlight being in the chorus of Un Ballo Maschera with Pavarotti/ Solti. Recording/Session / TV work includes After All That This ITV and soloist in The Messiah ITV with the Halle Orchestra, as well as singing the theme tune to Magic Toyshop film with the Halle Orchestra.

Judy has extensively toured the UK with many shows including Evita, Cats, West Side Story, Wizard of Oz, as well as Sweeney Todd, The King and I and Camelot at Liverpool Playhouse. Many principal girl roles in pantomimes around the UK, as well as principal singer in Summer seasons including Blackpool’s Winter Gardens and Scarborough’s Spa Theatre
Vocal coaching work includes head of singing at Salford Music Services, coaching and ensemble teaching at Eccles College, Salford College, Manchester Metropolitan University Theatre School, LIPA, Head of Singing at Arden Theatre School BA Musical Theatre/Acting and Hammond School/College.

Judy also set up several community choirs which are still running, Salford Community Choir, Eccles Voices and Monton Voices Community Choir
Judy enjoys working with singers/actors/performers of all ages and abilities and will help you to find the right techniques for your individual voice and the concepts that work for you to allow your voice to soar. Judy enjoys finding your natural voice and works on whatever repertoire you wish to cover, whilst working on storytelling, text and performance which are so important.
Working on Audition preparation so you are ready and confident for auditions is something Judy has extensive experience of and many of her students are now professional actors/singers/performers and entertainers.
